The Second Pilgrimage
The Second Pilgrimage is a spiritual successor to Victoria Scott's first online-only photobook The Pilgrimage. This is a story about a woman on a mission. She and her trusty 1996 Buick Roadmaster head deep into the mysterious woods, beaches, and small towns of Cascadia in a post-apocalyptic—or pre-apocalyptic—future—or present—or past. This photo book, like its predecessor, is a statement of queer hope in a world that is much more hostile than we deserve.
This project was undertaken the weekend after Donald Trump's re-election as a means of dealing with the fear of an uncertain future as a trans lesbian woman. It is an attempt to give myself clarity about what I hold onto hope for.
